"The Darling Buds of Cheddon" by Andrew Morgan |
||||||
|
The Village of Cheddon Fitzpaine has always held an annual flower show but the sixty-first is shaping up to be something quite different from those in the past. Set in the judging room at the show, nerves become increasingly frayed as problems arise with the exhibits, from clashes of opinion and from personal vendettas between judges and exhibitors. A stream of constant interruptions doesn't help the situation, nor does the show being held on the same day as an important England international football match. It's a sobering tale of 'tallest tulips' and of the perils you face when your begonias are presented in the wrong sized pot! |
